What does the TOG rating mean on sleep bags?

TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade. It measures the warmth of the sleep bag: 0.5 TOG is for warm weather (74-78°F), 1.0 TOG is for year-round use (69-73°F), and 2.5 TOG is for cooler temperatures (61-68°F).
